OTHER WEST SIDE GEYSER BASINS

Other basins of the Firehole River include:

• Black Sand Basin - an adjunct to the Upper Basin - with large pools and the beautiful Iron Spring Creek.
• Midway Geyser Basin, with the largest hot spring in the park, and beautiful meandering sections of the Firehole River.
• Lower Geyser Basin, with two distinct areas - Fountain Flats and the famous mud pots of the Fountain Geyser complex, & Great Fountain Geyser and its associated features.
• Each Of these basins is decorated by abundant wildlife, the Firehole River, and exciting vistas that demand to be photographed. Certainly the simple essence of Yellowstone is captured in these areas.
